Manitoba RCMP are worried about a disturbing trend that has developed in the last 10 months.
Mounties say they have responded to numerous fatal motor vehicle collisions where the victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
An RCMP review of all the deadly collisions in Manitoba, between January 1st and November 2nd determined that seatbelt use was a factor in 52 per cent of deaths. It also translates to 33 people dying as a result of not wearing a seatbelt.
So with that in mind they are reminding the public to always wear a seatbelt no matter the speed limit or distance travelled.
