Saskatchewan Education Minister Bronwyn Eyre says it’s important that everyone takes a stand against bullying, and show support for those who experience it.
The provincial government has declared this week as Bullying Awareness Week in Saskatchewan. This year’s theme is “Stand Up! (to bullying).”
Teachers and students are encouraged to discuss the problem amongst each other as well as learn more about the issues of bullying and how to prevent it.
A bullying and cyber-bullying prevention program called “I Am Stronger” — created by the Ministry of Education and SaskTel — is one of many resources used to tackle the issue.
More information can be found on the program’s website: http://iamstronger.ca/ or https://www.saskatchewan.ca/residents/education-and-learning/anti-bullying.
