Fighting crime in Saskatchewan was a major part of the debate in the Saskatchewan legislature today (Mon.).
The NDP is suggesting the Wall government take a more preventative approach by spending more on housing, jobs and education.
Justice minister Don Morgan says drugs and gangs are a concern but the province is taking more steps to prevent crime as well as training more police officers.
He says the province has added 120 municipal police officers and 258 officers on the new rural protection and response team.
