A charity in Moosomin has picked up a 500-dollar donation from the sale of GX94 Christmas Goodies cook books.
Moosomin Food Bank Chairperson Laurie Shepherd says it’s very timely.
“Currently we have around 32 families that we serve, and the number fluctuates throughout the year, and we do a few extras at Christmas time.” Shepherd said.
The Yorkton Salvation Army also received a donation from the proceeds, with a one-thousand dollar contribution.
Salvation Army Lieutenant Samuel Tim is grateful for the contribution.
“We really appreciate this donation because this will help us buy food that will help to serve people year round,” Tim said. “This money given today will go a long way in buying groceries and when they come, they will get something to help them get by.”
All money raised by the sale of Tonya Cherry’s “Christmas Goodies” cookbooks goes directly to charities in communities across the Parkland, in which they were sold.
