The sudden death of a 26 year-old woman at the Melville CN Rail Station has the Transportation safety Board of Canada conducting an investigation.
On the evening of December 22nd, Melissa Heins was in control of some rail cars when she engaged a reverse motion.
Heins then realized 3 cars began to roll back, which led her to jump on the train to apply the hand brake in hopes of stopping the cars.
The cars then collided corner to corner, resulting in Heins being caught in between two cars.
Heins was airlifted to Regina, where she later died of her injuries.
