Repairs to Swan River’s water system remain ongoing, as a well specialist company and parts arrived Wednesday night (Jan. 31).
Key components on two wells have been removed and new parts are being installed, but it will take time to complete.
Town officials say the environment, cold temperatures and the style of work required are factors in the length of time needed to complete the repairs.
In the meantime, residents are asked to continue conserving water, which means no baths, showers washing clothes or running dishwashers as they consume a large amount of water.
Emergency water distribution of bottled water and bulk potable water is available at the Swan Valley Regional Secondary School trades building from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Portable port-a-potties are at the Swan Valley Co-op wash bay during the same hours.
