Medical students in the Saskatchewan Medical Association’s Roadmap Program will be in Melville this weekend.
They will be touring around the community and spend some time with local physicians, learning about their medical practices.
It’s a one-day tour, with the students arriving at St. Peter’s Hospital at 11 a.m. Saturday and a lunch and medical demonstrations to follow from 11:30 to 2 p.m.
Afterward, they will visit the Community Works Building, on Prince Edward Street, from 2 to 5 p.m., taking part in art classes with residents.
The Roadmap Program showcases rural and regional centres in Saskatchewan, with the goal of increasing the number of locally trained physicians working in smaller communities.
