With the recent dump of snow Saskatchewan received over the past week, it increases the chance for flooding.
SGI’s Tyler McMurchy says there are several things to do to prevent any issues.
“Some of the things we advise home owners to do is rake snow off their roof and then shovel it away from the foundation of their home. You don’t want snow on your roof that could melt, re-freeze, cause ice dams and cause damage to your roof and get into your home that way.” said McMurchy.
McMurchy also says residents should make sure they have a functioning sewer back water valve to prevent any sewer back-up.
