It’s no secret; gas prices across Saskatchewan are getting quite high.
Gas Buddy’s Dan McTeague says while the Kinder Morgan dispute is playing some role, it isn’t as big as it seems.
“One of the things most people tend to ignore is the value of the Canadian dollar. As long as we can’t get our oil to market and we have major investments and significant increases in output this year both in Alberta and here is Saskatchewan that is being hemmed in if you will. It moves by various groups in some provinces, BC in particular.” said McTeague.
He says Saskatchewan’s stance on the carbon tax is keeping prices down, but drivers in Manitoba could soon see a jump of 6 cents per litre with the implementation of their carbon tax.
