Manitoba Infrastructure continues to forecast peak water levels at or slightly above for portions of the upper Assiniboine River, from the Shellmouth Dam to Brandon.
They expected this level of flow in the March flood outlook and it is now occurring as the spring melt is underway.
This week, the Portage Diversion started operation to reduce the risk of ice jamming along the lower Assiniboine River.
The ice on the Carrot and Saskatchewan rivers near The Pas is still on. Levels in those rivers are well below the banks but will increase with further flows from the west.
