The official opposition is criticizing the government for the decrease of disabled public service employees.
Since 2013-14, 92 less persons with disabilities are employed in the provincial public service positions, a 27 percent drop.
NDP Critic David Forbes says having disabled persons offer a great deal to public service careers.
“These people have an awful lot to offer, they are professional people and I think they bring an important perspective to the public sector, diversity is an important goal that we have.” stated Forbes.
In response, Premier Scott Moe says it’s important to everybody in Saskatchewan that there are ways to employ disabled persons in the public sector and in a variety of industries, as it is “who we are.”
