Saskatoon Police will continue to reach out to the family of a 6 year old girl who was biten by an on-duty canine over the weekend.
The canine was following a track when suddenly the dog turned a corner and bit the girl.
Police chief Troy Cooper says he isn’t aware of a previous incident happening like this before in the city…
“My understanding of the injuries is that they were consistent with a dog bite to the side of the body between the arm pit and the hip. I want to acknowledge the fear and the injury caused by this dog bite. I’m not aware of a previous incident like this in Saskatoon but we consider this a very serious event.” said Cooper.
The dog has since been relieved of its duties.
