A major cash donation has been given to the Swan River Valley Agricultural Society.
“The 30-thousand dollars will go towards the construction of an outdoor community entertainment shelter that will be built on the Swan River Valley Ag Society fair grounds, and will be used as a true community space.” said Swan Valley Co-op General Manager Colin Peters.
The funding is provided through the Co-op’s Community Spaces Program, which Peters notes began in 2015.
“To date, its donated 6.5-million dollars to 88 projects across Western Canada,” he said. “This year there’s 24 organizations that will get a total of 2-million dollars,”
“And we’re grateful that one of our local projects was selected.” he added.
Organizers hope the shelter can be built in time for next month’s Northwest Roundup and Exhibition in Swan River.
