The City of Yorkton along with members of the Yorkton Landfill are continuing construction on a new 5 million dollar waste cell.
Assistant Director of Environmental Services for the city, Aron Hershmiller says the new cell is the size of 6 football fields.
Construction was delayed on getting the liner installed, as the material came from Texas, where Hurricane Harvey struck.
Hershmiller adds they have spoken to surrounding communities about bringing waste to the Yorkton Landfill.
But they would need to hire a hauling company, in order to get garbage to Yorkton’s Landfill.
