The Saskatchewan government is seeking a court order to have the Justice for Our Stolen Children camp removed.
Minister responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Ken Cheveldayoff says the government is not asking the court to stop the group from protesting, but bylaws prohibit unauthorized overnight camping and wants these bylaws enforced.
The case will be in Regina Court of Queen’s Bench July 31st.
It comes after the protest camp announced on Monday they would be taking the provincial government to court over the arrest of 6 protestors on June 18th.
That matter will be heard August 23rd.
The Camp’s Lawyer, Dan LeBlanc, said the protesters aren’t asking for money, but acknowledgement of being wrongfully arrested and their rights violated.
