Lyle Stewart is stepping down as Saskatchewan’s Agriculture Minister. Stewart says he was recently diagnosed with colorectal cancer and he will be undergoing several months of aggressive treatment. Stewart says agriculture is a very important portfolio in this province and given his current circumstances he didn’t feel that he would be able to give the position the attention it deserved. Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says he is sad to lose Stewart from cabinet, but his first concern is for Stewart’s health. Moe said he expects to name a new Agriculture Minister next week.
