Saskatchewan’s Conflict of Interest Commissioner says there was no conflict of interest when Premier Scott Moe and cabinet minister Jeremy Harrison attended the most recent Roughrider home game.
They were spotted speaking with former prime minister Stephen Harper.
Ron Barclay says Moe and Harrison paid for their own tickets and didn’t break gifting policies, adding he also spoke with Harper and former Premier Brad Wall, who was also at the Rider game, and determined there was no lobbying either.
Democratic reform activist Duff Conacher argues investigations into potential conflicts of interest for politicians are too short, after hearing about this particular matter.
Conacher adds perceived conflicts and potential future conflicts that could arise out of a situation should also be taken into consideration.
