A Manitoba financial institution has changed it’s name.
Vanguard-Catalyst Credit Union is now Fusion Credit Union, after a vote by members and staff.
While the name change is effective immediately, services and websites under the Vanguard-Catalyst banner will continue until the end of this year.
“Fusion reflects all that we stand for, the coming together of members, staff and communities,” said Board Chair Guy Huberdeau in a news release. “It’s about more than just creating a spark and igniting change. Fusion creates tremendous amounts of energy that net only positive returns.”
“The name was selected through a contest for members and staff, which generated 650 entries. The amalgamation committee reduced the number to 50 entries and staff and members voted on those,” the bank said in the same release.
“135 members attended the name ratification vote, held in Dauphin, Rossburn, Hamiota and Roblin.”
It has branches in Russell, Roblin, Inglis, Dauphin, Gilbert Plains, Birtle and Rossburn and Winnipegosis, among other places.
