Former Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive back Justin Cox will be in court not only for sentencing, but to face a charge of assault with a weapon.
Cox pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm instead of going through a trial that was supposed to start today (Wed).
He will be in court to face the weapon-related offence in December.
Cox was arrested a year ago in connection to two separate incidents that allegedly occurred last August.
A woman accused Cox of physically assaulting her, and the other an employee of a business accused him of pointing a gun at her.
He was released by the Riders last April following his arrested related to an alleged domestic dispute, but was found not guilty.
