The Yorkton Rotary Club has donated 5-thousand dollars to the Health Foundation’s lab equipment fundraising campaign.
That money will be allocated to the Foundation’s lab equipment fundraising efforts, which includes a digital microscopy system. It will provide faster diagnosis for many conditions as well as increase diagnostic accuracy.
Executive Director of the Health Foundation, Ross Fisher says the contribution was one in the making.
“Some time ago, the Rotary asked me to attend a Rotary meeting and talk about our fundraising campaign for this year for the new lab equipment,” Fisher explained. “I attended a meeting, did a presentation, they asked a few questions, and then at a following meeting they decided that they wanted to make a donation.”
In a news release, the club felt “Lab Services were vital to our local healthcare, and the opportunity to significantly improve such a fundamental service, that everyone in our community uses, should be taken advantage of.”
