Federated Co-operatives Limited turned over a cheque for 768-thousand dollars towards the S-J-H-L Assistance Program today.
Part of the money includes 191-thousand dollars from the sale of “Humboldt Strong” T-shirts at Co-op locations.
That boosts the total monies raised by the program to approximately 1.4-million dollars since being established April 8th, two days after the Humboldt Broncos’ bus tragedy.
S-J-H-L president Bill Chow says the program was created to ensure there were resources in place to help all within the S-J-H-L family through hard times because of the tragedy. Chow added the monies are more readily available as a result.
The cheque presentation was made Monday at the Legends Centre in Warman where the annual S-J-H-L Showcase of games is being held involving all 12 teams.
