Two Muscowpetung First Nation men, accused of assaulting another in the fall of 2016, will both be back in Regina Court of Queen’s Bench on October 12th, after appearing yesterday (MON).
The trial for 34-year-old Wade Morris Lerat didn’t go ahead, so the matter was adjourned.
However, 24-year-old Tyler Louis Yuzicappi chose to plead guilty to Kidnapping and Aggravated Assault, and his matter was also adjourned to October 12th, in order to set a sentencing date.
Back in November, their co-accused, 37-year-old Cory Byron Redwood, pled guilty to Assault, and was given an 18-month suspended sentence.
The trio was charged in connection with the alleged incident, which took place on September 18th and 19th, 2016, in an isolated part of the reserve, that resulted in a 42-year-old man requiring hospital care.
