Several prominent members of Saskatchewan’s legislature took the time to get their flu shot this morning (Tues) in Regina.
Moe was joined by Deputy Premier Gord Wyant and Minister of Health Jim Reiter to get the shot in Regina, something they say is important to protect themselves and others.
Reiter says despite the ineffectiveness of last year’s vaccine, people should still get the shot.
“When they’re designed every year by the experts, they do their best to try to accomodate and anticipate what the flu season’s going to be, Reiter added. “Some years they’re more effective than others, you never know for sure until it’s over but there is still a level of effectiveness. Even last year even though people were critical about it, some years they’ve been exceptionally effective.”
He says that it’s easier for people to get the shot than ever before with pharmacies now able to distribute the flu shot.
