A Yorkton man arrested in connection with a high-speed chase in May has admitted his guilt.
In Yorkton Provincial Court today (Thu), 19-year-old Colton LaBelle pleaded guilty to numerous charges, including Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm and Evading Police.
He was sentenced to 1 year in jail, but due to the time he’s already served in custody, he only has to spend another 194 days behind bars.
A warrant for LaBelle’s arrest was issued on May 8th, following an altercation at Walmart in Yorkton.
He was spotted in the city on May 12th, and when police tried to pull him over, a 14-kilometer pursuit ensued.
The chase ended on Highway 52 west of Yorkton when an S-U-V struck a police cruiser, and a Mountie was injured.
