A recent survey shows Saskatchewan has the highest percentage of teen smokers between the ages of 15 to 19 with 22 per cent. Donna Pasiechnik with the Canadian Cancer Society says the province needs to increase the taxes on the prices of cigarettes to keep kids from smoking, and increase the provinces revenue base. P.E.I. has the next largest percentage of teen smokers with 16 percent and Manitoba at 14 per cent. The national average is 8%.
