Rural municipalities are upset with a cut in provincial funding for rat control. The issue will be among the nearly three dozen resolutions discussed at the SARM mid-term convention today and tomorrow in Saskatoon. Other resolutions to be covered at the SARM mid-term include the carbon tax, rural crime and trespass legislation. Reeves and councilors will get an update from the RCMP on its efforts to reduce and prevent crime in rural areas. SARM President Ray Orb says 100 communities have a rural crime watch, with many using social media.
