Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is back in the province from his first trade mission to India.
He met with government officials to discuss tariffs on Saskatchewan pulse crops, which Moe says in a statement while they continue to face challenges regarding those tariffs, they know their relationship with India will continue to grow and develop.
Moe also had meetings with a number of Indian business leaders to promote Saskatchewan as a place to invest and to identify potential partnerships in innovation and research.
The province says it has been Canada’s top exporter to India for the past decade with exports valued at $1.15-billion in 2017.
Saskatchewan’s major exports to India include potash, uranium, lentils and peas, and roughly 4-thousand 450 jobs rely on those exports.
