Spring Seeding in Saskatchewan is Almost Complete

Seeding operations in Saskatchewan are mostly complete.

Saskatchewan Agriculture crop specialist Cory Jacob says all six crop districts in the province are reporting that seeding is 99% complete.

That is up from 92% last week, and ahead of the 5 year average for this time of year of 93%.

While seeding has gone well, crop development has been slow due to the dry conditions.
Jacob says very little rainfall was reported this past week.
He says significant rain is needed soon across the province to help with crop growth and emergence.
