A Canupawakpa Dakota First Nation woman charged with Second Degree Murder is off the hook.

On July 21, 2018, a 31-year-old Virden man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead in hospital, after being found at a Virden residence with injuries consistent with being involved in an altercation.

31-year-old Cassidy Eagle was charged with Second Degree Murder.

Her preliminary hearing began on Wednesday (19th), in Brandon Provincial Court, and yesterday (THURS), the murder charge was stayed by the Crown.
