Sask. Jobs Minister Jeremy Harrison Pleased with Statistics Canada Job Numbers for June 2019

More people in Saskatchewan are working than ever before.

Stats Canada’s job numbers for June were released today (Friday) and it shows almost 593-thousand people drawing a paycheque whether it be full or part-time.

That’s up 92-hundred since June of last year.
While the numbers are encouraging, Jobs minister Jeremy Harrison says challenges remain but feels the light at the end of the tunnel continues to get closer and closer when it comes to the economic storm Saskatchewan has faced.
While there are also many positives in the report from Stats Canada, Harrison says one that stands out for him is that private sector jobs are up 3 percent or 99-hundred jobs from this time a year ago.
