The new vehicle crusade continues as the City of Melville is purchasing a new Vac Truck.
The Vactor 2100i – from Fer-Marc Equipment Limited – will replace the current Vac Truck which is a 1992 model.
The Vac Truck helps clean sewer lines and excavates ground to expose underground utilities.
Melville recently bought two new tandem trucks and a street sweeper recently.
The cost of the new machine is over $531-thousand, under the City’s budget of $600-thousand
Manager of Melville’s Public Works Department Andrew Fahlman says the new machine won’t be arriving in the Rail City until next spring, because of customization’s being made to it.
