APAS Wanting Enhanced Farm Support Programs

APAS is calling on federal and provincial agriculture ministers to strengthen farm support programs.

President Todd Lewis is in Quebec City this week for a meeting of farm leaders and agriculture ministers from across the country.

He wants to see improved farm business risk programs.

Lewis says farm support programs like agristability and crop insurance are under review and he wants to see some enhancements.

He says farmers face serious weather and trade concerns.

Lewis says farm leaders will hold a round-table discussion with the agriculture ministers Wednesday evening.
