Brandon Man Returns to Court After Violent Incident in Russell

A new court date has been set for a Brandon man, charged in connection with a violent incident in Russell last month.

Russell RCMP was called on the afternoon of June 24th, to a report of a 56-year-old man being assaulted, threatened, and having some of his belongings stolen.

While officers were on scene, the suspect returned and began to hit the windows of the police vehicle in an attempt to break them.

The man resisted arrest, so Mounties had to use a taser to subdue him.

The suspect also caused damage while being held in the Russell RCMP cell block.

39-year-old Michael Man faces numerous charges, and will return to Russell Provincial Court on September 25th.
