A call to a home on the Fishing Lake First Nation yesterday (Wed) afternoon resulted in the death of an adult male.
Two Wadena RCMP members responded to a report of a man – armed with a knife – causing a disturbance.
Shortly after arriving, one of the officers allegedly shot the man who was later pronounced dead at the scene despite first aid efforts from emergency personnel.
The family of the victim released his identity – Lucien Silverquill.
An external investigation has been requested by the RCMP.
