Saskatchewan Harvest Behind Schedule in Many Parts of the Province

Some Saskatchewan farmers were able to make headway on harvest last week.

Saskatchewan Agriculture crop specialist Cory Jacob says harvest progress in the province is still behind the five year average for this time of year.

You know late last week we had some favorable weather and producers definitely used that to their advantage. We have 6% of the crop now combined across the province, up from 2% last week, but we are behind the 5-year average of 16%” explained Jacob.

Jacob in east central Saskatchewan harvest is just 2% complete.

He says the five year average for harvest progress in east central Saskatchewan would have us closer to 10% complete.
