Christmas Comes Early for Twelve Northern Sask. Communities

It takes a big group and months of organization to organize Christmas in the North, with 12 remote northern communities receiving some Christmas cheer.

Michael Rodyniuk, President and CEO of West Wind, says his organization along with Athabasca Basin Development, Cameco, Orano, Prince Albert Grand Council, Points Athabasca Contracting, Athabasca Security, Al’s Place, Flyer Electric and Team Drilling sponsor the events.

Just under 13-hundred children receive a parcel with books, school supplies, and some Christmas goodies flown in by West Wind or Transwest Air.

Christmas in the North reached Black Lake last week and the man in the red suit with the white beard visited Fond-du-Lac today (Mon).

Rodyniuk says it’s heartening to see the kids when they receive their gifts with absolute joy. This year is the seventh annual Christmas in the North.
