Chantz Petruic scored twice including his 50th goal of the season but it wasn’t enough as the Yorkton Hyundai Terriers fell on the road, 6-5 to the Humboldt Broncos on Saturday night.
Petruic now has a league-leading 50 goals and 94 points on the season in just 43 games.
Jordan Guiney also scored twice while Evan Sare had the other.
Phillipe Bond made 44 saves on 50 shots in the Terrier net.
Logan Kurki and Luke Spadafora led the Broncos with two goals each.
The Terriers’ will return to action on Tuesday night when they host the Estevan Bruins at the Farrell Agencies Arena.
MILS DROP 2ND STRAIGHT WITH LOSS IN ESTEVAN
Max McPeak got the game’s opening goal but that’s all the offence that Melville could muster as the Mils fell 6-1 on the road to the Estevan Bruins.
Griffin Asham-Moroz and Jayden Davis each scored twice for the Bruins.
Mils’ netminder Berk Berkeliev turned aside 46 of 52 shots in the losing cause.
The Mils will look to return to the win column on Tuesday night when they visit the Weyburn Red Wings at Crescent Point Place.

STAMPS’ DROP 2ND STRAIGHT IN 2020 AFTER OVERTIME LOSS TO NEEPAWA
Connor Smith scored 1:54 into overtime to lead the visiting Neepawa Natives to a 4-3 win over the Swan Valley Stampeders on Saturday.
Jaeger Lapointe, Will Highet, and Eli Lieffers also scored for Neepawa while former Stampeder Michael Davis made 32 saves in his return to Swan River.
Nathan Carl, Tommy Cardinal and Jackson Betcher replied for the Stamps who got 30 saves from Mikael Foucher in the OT loss.
The Stampeders’ return to the ice on Tuesday night when they host the Waywayseecappo Wolverines at the Centennial Arena. GX94 will broadcast the game with the pregame show kicking off at 7:20 and the play by play starting at 7:30.
