The Yorkton Hyundai Terriers captured their 2nd straight on Tuesday night doubling up the Weyburn Red Wings 4-2 at Crescent Point Place.

The Terriers struck first on the road as a long point shot from former Red Wing Connor Karo would beat Joseph Young over the right pad for his 1st as a Terriers to make it 1-0 just 3:24 in.

They would add to lead just under 3 minutes later as Chantz Petruic would snipe home his 53rd of the season and his 100th point of the SJHL season to make it a 2 goal game.

The one goal lead would not last long as just 11 seconds later, Jordan Gagnon banged it past AP goaltender Jacob Herman for his 2nd that made it a 2-1 lead.

But once again the Terrier captain would pull his team ahead by two as he took a sweet pass back-door and beat a sprawled out Joseph Young for his 54th of the season to make it a two goal game at 3-1 after 1 period of play.

In the 2nd, 8:41 into the period Ryan Granville would give the Terriers their first three goal lead of the night as he rifled one over the right pad of Young for his 4th to make it 4-1.

Braden Birnie would cut the deficit to just two once again just a short time later but that’s has close as they would get.

AP netminder Jacob Herman who was called up from SMAAAHL’s Swift Current Legionnaires earlier in the day got the start for the Terriers and made 33 saves on 35 shots to earn his 1st SJHL win while Joseph Young took the loss for the Red Wings turning aside 21 shots.

The Terriers’ now have a 10 day break between games and they’ll return to action on Sat. Jan 25th for “Pink the Rink” Night at the Farrell Agencies Arena when they entertain these Weyburn Red Wings at 7:30PM.

Battlefords North Stars over Notre Dame Hounds 5-1.



The Waywayseecappo Wolverines surrendered a 4 goal 2nd period en route to a 6-4 home loss to the Portage Terriers on Tuesday.

Alex Lucken, Conrad Phillips, Brody Moffatt and Rayman Bassi all scored in the loss while Colin Ahern in his 2nd start with Wayway made 25 saves on 31 shots.

Caelan McPhee and Parker Malchuk each had 2 goals to lead the Terriers’ offensively.

The Wolverines return to action on Thursday night when they entertain the Selkirk Steelers at 7:30PM.
