Game #4 – Team Kunitz (SJHL) 3 Team Zajac (MJHL 4
Grady Hobbs (Dauphin) and Brayden Pawluk (Dauphin) each had 1G 1A while Swan Valley Stampeders’ G Mikael Foucher made 28 saves to lead MJHL’s Team Zajac to a 4-3 victory over Team Kunitz to open up Day 2.
A pair of Waywayseecappo Wolverines’ Jack Kennedy and Conrad Phillips also scored for Zajac while Tian Rask (Melfort), Eli Loon-Stewardson (Battlefords) and Austin Becker (Battlefords) replied for Kunitz.
Melfort’s Shawb Parkinson made 25 saves on 29 shots in the loss.
Game #5 – Team Mitchell (SJHL) 3 Team Belfour (MJHL) 4
Jake Tremblay (Nipawn) had 2 goals, 1 assist for Team Mitchell but it wasn’t enough as they fell to Team Belfour 4-3.
Jordan Simoneau (Nipawin) also scored for Team Mitchell while Team Belfour got their four unanswered goals from Blake Burr (Selkirk), Griffin Leonard (Winkler), Brett Namaka (Selkirk) and Cole DeKonick (Dauphin).
Portage netminder Nathan Moore made 24 saves in the win.
Team Mitchell split their goaltending duties as Keenan Rancier (Estevan) made 15 saves on 19 shots while Ross Hawryluk (Nipawin) stopped all 21 shots he faced.
Game #6 – Team Schwartz (SJHL) 8 Team Garbutt (MJHL) 6
In the wildest game of the SJHL/MJHL Showcase, it was Team Schwartz coming out on top defeating Team Garbutt 8-6.
Tristyn Lemyre (Flin Flon) and Ben Tkachuk (Melfort) had 2G 1A to lead the way for Schwartz who also got a 4 point night (1G 3A) from Humboldt’s Tristan Shewchuk.
Melville’s Zach McIntyre, Evan Bortis (Nipawin), and Steven Kesserling (Battlefords) also chipped in with markers.
Kyle Lamoureux (Winkler), Jayden McCarthy (Winkler), Mikol Sartor (Winnipeg), Ty Naaykens (Steinbach), Kolton Shindle (Portage) and Brayden Foreman (Winnipeg) replied for Garbutt.
Team Garbutt’s Dylan Meilun (Winkler) made 22 saves while Team Schwartz’s Joseph Young (Weyburn) made 28 stops between the pipes.
