Rural Depopulation of Saskatchewan Continues

5 years ago, the number of people living in rural areas of Saskatchewan declined below the number of people living in urban areas, and the trend continues.
U of S professor Ken Coates says abandoned homes, closed Co-Ops and Credit unions pulling out of towns are indicators.
He says we are on track, that by the time we get to 2040, for the population to be around 65% urban.
