Starting tomorrow, the fines for distracted driving in Saskatchewan more than double. Fines will go up to 580 dollars for a first offence of the year, 14 hundred dollars for a second and 2100 for each one after that in a year. On top of that, drivers will lose four demerit points for each offence. More than six-thousand accidents in 2018 were caused by distractions or inattention behind the wheel. That resulted in 774 injuries and 22 deaths.
