Ottawa and Manitoba to Construct a Power Line to Saskatchewan

The government of Manitoba is going ahead with a new power transmission line running from Birtle to Saskatchewan, with funding from the federal government’s Investing in Canada’s Infrastructure plan.
Winnipeg M.P Jim Carr, special adviser for the Prairies, made the announcement today (Mon).
$19 million will come from Ottawa’s Canada Infrastructure plan, and $42 million from the Manitoba government.
Work on the 46 kilometre project is slated to start this year, and be completed in June next year, and  will see up to 250 megawatts exported to Saskatchewan by 2022.
