Canada now has 17,063 cases of COVID-19 in Canada, with 345 deaths.
In her daily Ottawa briefing, chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam says of particular concern are the number of outbreaks in high-risk settings, including First Nation and Inuit communities.
She reports 346 thousand people have been tested for the virus, with 5% confirmed as positive.
Canadian officials are also aggressively buying needed medical equipment in bulk to combat the COVID-19 pandemic from all available suppliers and distributors.
