Today (Wed) is Earth Day, and the Nature Conservancy of Canada suggests, due to COVID-19 restrictions, observing the day by appreciating the wildlife in your own backyard.
Spokesperson Anja Sorenson says more people are doing just that with the directive to stay home, and although it may seem like there is more wildlife out there, it’s more likely we are just seeing them more often.

She says even looking at pictures of wildlife posted online and virtually exploring nature can help to nurture our mental health.
Many people are itching to get into their yards and gardens, but Sorenson recommends to hold off, because over-wintering pollinators could be taking refuge in our lawns and gardens.
