The number of COVID-19 cases in Canada has now reached 40,190, with 1,974 deaths.
At the daily national pandemic briefing in Ottawa today (Thu), chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam says it’s a great day to consider the progress already made.
She says the virus was only discovered in January, and they’ve already been able to find ways to limit its spread.
Over 630 thousand Canadians have been tested, with over 6.5% positive.
