Sask. NDP Critical of Provincial Budget During Debate in Legislature

The NDP is condemning the Moe government’s budget as totally inadequate for the pandemic crisis.

Opposition leader Ryan Meili says the budget offers little support for education, seniors and the economy.

He says the province will be cutting services or selling off crown corporations to balance the books in the next few years.

Premier Scott Moe says the budget offers record investments in education and health care.

He says the budget also has a billion dollar effort to counteract the impact from the coronavirus as well as a huge boost to infrastructure investment.

Moe says the budget is a blueprint for recovery from the coronavirus.

Moe pointed to the budget provisions of 3.1 billion dollars to build hospitals, schools, highways and municipal infrastructure.
