Prison Time for Man After Pleading Guilty to Role in Violent Home Invasion in Russell

A man who admitted to his role in a violent home invasion in Russell, has been sentenced.

32-year-old Christopher Benn was in Brandon yesterday (Mon), where he received over five-and-a-half years in prison.

His co-accused, 40-year-old Elroy Benn and 30-year-old Harley Mecas, are also in custody, awaiting their next court appearances.

Last December, Russell RCMP were called to a report of a home invasion at an apartment complex in Russell, where a 32-year-old woman was assaulted while she slept.
