Santa Claus Parade in Yorkton Had a Great Turnout

The 23rd annual Santa Claus Parade, held by the Yorkton Business Improvement District, had an excellent turnout.

It was held on Saturday (Nov. 28) and Executive Director of YBID Donna Brothwell felt it was actually a bit overwhelming, with over 800 vehicles through the parade.

To comply with COVID-19 guidelines, this year was a “reverse” parade, meaning people could drive through the parade route to see Santa and the floats located in the Gallagher Centre parking lot.

The Salvation Army Red Kettle and Food Bank Drive was also there, and they had a successful day, collecting $5,997.20 in donations and 800 pounds of non-perishable food.

Brothwell thanked the volunteers, sponsors, floats, and spectators that made this year’s event another successful one.
