Pearl Harbour +79

Today is the 79th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. It led to one of the most famous speeches in history, from American President Franklin Roosevelt, who said it was a date “that will live in infamy”. The attack prompted the United States to enter the Second World War, the very next day. Japan intended the attack as a preventive action to keep the United States Pacific Fleet from interfering with its planned military activities in Southeast Asia.
