The Saskatchewan government has announced 7.5 million dollars in federal-provincial funds for livestock research in 2021. The funding will go to 24 livestock and forage-related research projects as well as support for the Prairie Swine Centre and the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization at the U of S. The executive director of research for the ministry of Agriculture, Shawn Gibson, says the funds will cover research projects like improving cattle health by removing sulphates from farm ponds.
